Play a vital role in the smooth operations of Social House Kitchen & Tap, a casual American Kitchen and Tap house in Virginia. As a Dishwasher, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, ensuring a steady supply of clean items for the culinary team. Your diligence and attention to detail will contribute to the overall efficiency of the restaurant, allowing our chefs to focus on creating delicious comfort foods for our guests. - Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, flatware, and kitchen equipment using industrial dishwashers.
- Organize and store clean dishes, ensuring they are readily available for the culinary team.
- Assist with kitchen cleanliness, including sweeping and mopping floors and removing trash.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to health and safety standards to maintain a hygienic and safe kitchen area.
- Dishwashing experience in a high-volume restaurant preferred
- High school diploma (or equivalent) encouraged
- Able to read documents and written instructions to understand sanitation requirements, safety rules, equipment operation and maintenance, policies, and standard operating procedures
- Certification in food safety and sanitation a plus
- Able to work flexible shifts and schedules, inclusive of weekends and some holidays
- Able to work calmly and effectively under pressure
- High energy and stamina.
- Able to work within a fast-paced, highly mobile, yet small space environment Able to stand, kneel, bend, and walk for up to 8 hours per day
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Able to withstand temperatures up to 105 degrees
- Able to communicate effectively in the primary language of the work location
- Ability to perform essential functions to company standards with reasonable accommodation
