Through innovative storytelling and a culture of collaboration, Disney Live Entertainment creates, produces, and delivers remarkable and engaging entertainment experiences. From the intimate to the spectacular, our work can be seen at Disney theme parks, resort hotels, cruise ships, and other locations the world over! This diverse team – representing a wide variety of disciplines and talents from technical directors, writers, and lighting designers to choreographers, cosmetologists, and music producers – brings magical worlds to life through technical expertise, performance excellence, incomparable ingenuity, unparalleled spectacle… and a dash of pixie dust!
This is a full-time 6-month internship (dates are January 11th, 2025, through June 7th, 2025).
What You Will Do
The Art & Design Team are a collection of outstanding Visual Storytellers that are responsible for the development of magical scenic designs/concept art and renderings/scenic treatments/logos/graphics that help to tell the stories of our live show offerings including parades, stage shows and special events on and off the Disney property, and on-board the Disney Cruise Line.
We are looking for an individual with a positive personality, an innovative mind-set and a fervor for Disney quality and Magical creativity. We are seeking a motivated individual who will ensure that the Disney standards are reflected consistently in all design & technical materials.
+ Demonstrating knowledge of basic design, including but not limited to hand illustration as well as digital painting, computer graphics, and theatre/themed entertainment/production design
+ Assisting with design research
+ Collaborating as part of a team on at least one project from blue sky to completion
+ Working on multiple projects simultaneously
+ Participating in appropriate Disney Live Entertainment seminars and meetings
Required Qualifications & Skills
+ Proficient knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop is a must
+ Computer proficiency within a Windows environment such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
+ Creativity and out of the box thinking
+ Knowledge of the Live Entertainment & Theme Park industry
+ Gaining trust through motivation and communication
+ Balancing conflicting priorities with the ability to meet demanding targeted dates
+ Adaptability working in different styles of artwork
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience with 3D modeling/sculpting software Z-Brush/Maya/ Blender/Revit/Rhino/ SketchUp/AutoCAD/Vectorworks
Required Materials
+ Portfolio (must submit a pdf file of your best 10 pieces of artwork, best pieces first, as well as a URL link on resume)
Education
+ Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
+ Currently enrolled as a junior or senior student, pursuing a degree in graphic design, concept art, fine art, illustration, scenic design, art direction, themed entertainment design, architecture, or related field
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
+ Be at least 18 years of age
+ Possess unrestricted work authorization
+ Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program

+ Available to work full-time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship
