Main Ingredients of the Job!
As a US FOODS ® Dispatcher you will be responsible for coordinating driver activities to resolve service issues. The main objective is to verify that the customer's needs are met in a prompt and professional manner. US Foods Dispatchers start at per hour with higher potential for individuals with more experience.
_Great_ Dispatchers _are crucial to the_ _US FOODS®_ _team and one of the_ _key members_ _of our organization. Our_ Dispatchers _strive for integrity and reliability, while building trusting relationships with team members._
What you bring to the table
+ In the case of a vehicle accident or driver injury,the dispatcher must notify themanager/supervisor in charge and the safety specialist ASAP.
+ Coordinate driver activities to minimize hours of service violations.
+ Verify that drivers are using Omnitracs properly.
+ Assign backhauls as needed to be done in the most efficient manner possible.
+ Coordinate trailer and tractor assignments.
+ Communicate to the sales force and operations management if there are any concernsregardingservice issues that may arisein the event ofa late dispatch,breakdownor other service failure.
+ Reassign routes as needed.
+ Visually inspect each driver's appearance to verify that drivers are in proper uniform and haverequiredPPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
+ Coordinate shuttle assignments to minimize downtime and overtime.
+ Complete Attendance Reports.
+ Distribute intercompany mail to sales force.
+ Other duties as assigned by management.
What you bring to the table
Education/Training:
+ High School Diploma/GEDrequired
Related Experience/Requirements:
+ Must have working knowledge ofDOT (Department of Transportation)regulations and driver's logs.
+ Must be organized and detailed; and have legible handwriting.
+ Must be able to manage several things at once.
+ Must have (2) years transportation experience
+ CDL A preferred
