Responsibilities
The Dispatcher, Linehaul will be responsible for dispatching drivers to maintain service levels of on-time local and out state deliveries. Ensure drivers are adhering to Hours-of-Service regulations. Notify customers of arrival schedules. Prioritize under pressure in the best interest of the company, customers, and drivers.

- Conduct daily dispatching and weekly scheduling of local and linehaul drivers.
- Determine the best delivery methods and negotiate rates directly with vendors and customers.
- Manage breakdown situations on the road & coordinate equipment repair with maintenance shop to reduce mechanical failures and delays.
- Complete necessary paperwork / data entry accurately and in a timely manner to ensure an efficient and steady flow of information.
- Coordinate third party carriers to move overflow loads in cost efficient way.
- Develop strong relationships with customers and drivers to reduce the stress that comes with last minute schedule changes.
- Comply with company C-TPAT and TSA security procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to read and interpret general business documents. Ability to write routine reports and general business correspondence. Ability to work with peers and communicate basic concepts.
- Ability to solve practical problems through standardized solutions that require limited judgment. Ability to follow prescribed and detailed procedures to solve routine problems.
- Must have some basic knowledge of the DOT and HOS rules and Regulations.
- Must be able to use a computer with the thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, email and the Internet usage.
- Must be punctual to work and be able to handle stress and meet all deadlines in a timely manner with accuracy.
- Must be dependable and be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, still with accuracy.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.

SUPERVISION
Position functions with supervision and has no direct reports.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Minimum of a High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 0-3 years of experience dispatching in logistics/transportation industry preferred. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.

Normal office situation. Occasionally, while performing the duties of this Job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme cold and/or heat in the warehouse. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration in the warehouse. The noise level in the warehouse work environment is usually loud.
