About the Job
This role is dispatching plus -- load planning, driver management, payroll, weekly KPI meetings. A logistics dispatcher is a professional responsible for coordinating product transportation for companies. They partner with other logistics operators, shipping businesses, and truck operators to transport their shipments in the best conditions.
Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
- Properly follow all Company, DOT and OSHA safety procedures.
- Dispatch and support drivers.
- Improve truck utilization through backhauls and managing hours of service.
- Effectively route drivers to ensure efficient, timely service to customers.
- Review and process paperwork daily.
- Review driver’s daily log sheet ensuring compliance with hours of service and accuracy.
- Review driver’s daily inspection reports.
- Arrange preventative maintenance service accordingly.
- Assist drivers with issues that may arise, making the decision to call management or customers.
- Keep daily inspection reports on file.
- Review driver trip reports for accuracy and addressing discrepancies.
- Perform general office administrative duties and other duties.
Experience:
- Previous experience
- Customer Service skills
- Great communication
- Not required, but a plus, is a CDL
