SUMMARY: Primarily responsible as the first point of contact and ultimately the scheduling of all pickups and deliveries of donated/purchased items and the movement of these items to the retail stores, in-house sites/locations and other sites in conjunction with the Utility Department Supervisor to provide scheduling and traveling efficiency. Works with outside inventory distribution vendors; reports directly to the Distribution Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Answers and retrieves inbound phone calls to schedule donation pickups and deliveries of donated and sold items, shipments to stores, houses, offices, etc.
- Communicates daily with utility drivers to inform them of current product volumes and any transportation service needs.
- Accepts donations according to company guidelines.
- Responsible for developing, maintaining and evaluating records relating to inventory distribution to outside vendors, thus providing intelligent data to make informed decisions about the best channels to move excess or low quality inventory. Maintains records and prepares reports for the Retail Operations Director.
- Maintains communication with outside vendors to maintain a constant and efficient flow.
- Assists as needed, when directed by the Retail Operations Director and in conjunction with the Donation Specialist, with maintaining relationships with surrounding businesses/organizations for procurement of donations.
- Solicits input from the retail store managers as to their immediate merchandise needs; makes the proper arrangements to get the needed merchandise to their store(s) in a timely manner. Works with the store managers, utility staff and/or clerks to prepare and supply needed shipments of inventory including, but not limited to clothing, appliances, books, purses, belts, shoes, linens, bedding, furniture, etc.
- In conjunction with the Retail Operations Director, determines the best way to distribute excess inventory for maximum profit, including but not limited to selling in the stores, podded, scrap vendors, auctioneers and other outside vendors.
- If any retail store has an overstock of items, determines, in conjunction with retail store managers, if a system wide sale or per store sale is needed to move overstock of inventory quickly, thus increasing profits.
- In conjunction with the Retail Operations Director, ensures proper sorting and storage for easy distribution to stores or other distribution channels.
- Assists the Retail Operations Director with special projects as needed. Monitors merchandise at all retail stores designated as "unsellable" to ensure that more is available for sale and less is sent to the county landfill and scrap vendors, thereby increasing profits and cutting expenses.
- Accurately completes all assigned paperwork in a timely manner.
- Brings any safety concerns or issues to the attention of the retail store managers and/or Retail Operations Director to ensure a safe working environment.
- Provides excellent customer service to donors, including providing every donor a greeting, assistance, accurately completed donation receipt and thank you for every donation.
- Order supplies as needed, including but not limited to donation receipts, merchandising supplies, signage, clothing tags, clothing hangers, etc.
- Performs any other tasks as requested or required; takes on additional responsibilities as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to maintain inventory figures; working with Excel or other software a plus, but not required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid Florida driver license with safe driver rating required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and risk of electrical shock. The conditions in the work environment can range from extreme heat in the summer to extreme cold in the winter.
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
