Position: Distribution Manager
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Distribution Manager to oversee our shipping, logistics, and warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will ensure the efficient and timely delivery and distribution of our products while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of shipping and logistics, including domestic and international shipments.
- Coordinate with carriers and logistics partners to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements for the transportation of biotech products.
- Manage warehouse staff and operations to ensure efficient storage, handling, and distribution of products.
- Develop and implement shipping policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Manage, train, and mentor a team of logistics and warehouse personnel.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Ensure all distribution activities comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Manage and oversee all shipping activities, including the preparation, packaging, and dispatch of orders.
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure product integrity.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to shipping, logistics, and warehouse operations.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate stock for order fulfillment.
- Initiate deviations and complete investigations regarding non-conforming products.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Work with the electronic and paper-based inventory system to manage the receipt, release, packaging, and shipment of GMP materials
- Monitor temperature conditions of refrigerators, freezers, and room temperature storage of cGMP materials, including responding to alarms (on-call), as necessary
- Identify opportunities for process improvement in warehouse operations. Implement initiatives to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance productivity.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation.
- Work under minimal supervision to meet project goals
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in distribution, logistics, or warehouse management, preferably in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements for the transportation and storage of biotech products.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Able to work independently with little or no supervision of day-to-day tasks
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
- Experience with Inventory Management Systems/ERP
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods
- Must be able to lift/carry reports and materials up to 40 pounds, move about to the office, communicate efficiently and effectively on the telephone or in person, and complete required paperwork
