As a District Health Director in Gwinnett County (Lawrenceville, GA)  for the Georgia Department of Public Health, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.We are seeking new talent to work as the local public health officer in the Gwinnett Health District as well as being the district public health director reporting to the Georgia Department of Public Health Commissioner. The Commissioner, a licensed medical physician, reports directly to the Governor of Georgia. This position would be the chief executive of the county boards of health, and their respective public health departments. The board serves in a largely advisory and advocacy role. This is broad, highly stimulating, population health improvement work which ranges from policy development, to environmental regulation, to public education, to individual contagious disease treatment (and containment) and more.
