The preferred candidate for this role would office in the California or Arizona sales office. The potential exists to consider candidates with other office locations.
Duties
- Major duties include developing sales objectives, plans, programs and budgets; directing sales operations through subordinate Territory Sales Managers. Monitors competitor products, sales and marketing activities and adjusts sales strategies as needed. Reviews and analyzes sales performance against programs, quotes and plans to determine effectiveness.
- Builds relationships and maintains industry contacts that lead to sales.
- Works with engineering, manufacturing, distribution, and matrix support areas to ensure customer needs are met and accounts are collected timely.
- Ensures proper development of district personnel including Territory Managers, Field Supervisors, administrative and engineering personnel.
- Involved in retention programs such as development planning, continued education, employee recognition and succession planning.
Qualifications
- College degree in sales, marketing, engineering or equivalent professional experience, plus minimum of 5 years construction sales experience. Management experience a plus.
- Excellent communication, leadership, problem solving, organizational, training, and PC skills are required.
- Ability to formulate and execute an annual Sales and Service Plan and effectively communicate sales leadership strategy to all members of the team.
- Must be a creative thinker, self-motivator with the ability to negotiate.
- Must have ability to anticipate and resolve issues.
- Must work effectively under pressure, exercise good judgment, and maintain confidentiality.
Travel required.
Final candidates will be required to pass a post-offer pre-employment physical and drug screen.
