In this critical role, you will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for doors, frames, hardware, and related architectural products for residential, commercial, and government projects. - Analyze blueprints, specifications, and project requirements to identify materials, labor, and scope.
- Utilize estimation software and maintain updated records for all bid documentation.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for Division 8 products (doors, frames, and hardware) for a variety of projects, including residential, commercial, and government.
- Provide value engineering suggestions to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Coordinate with project managers, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure accuracy and competitive pricing.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and industry partners.
- Detail projects to prepare for procurement
- Participate in pre-bid meetings to gain a comprehensive understanding of project scope.
- Stay up to date with market trends, material costs, and advancements in construction technology.
- Draft detailed proposals and presentations for prospective clients.
- Proven experience in Division 8 estimating is required.
- Strong knowledge of hollow metal doors and frames, aluminum frames, timely and wood frames as well as hardware specifications, materials, and installation processes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, architectural drawings, and construction documents.
- Proficiency with estimating software and general computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
- Self-motivated, highly organized, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
