Parker Hannifin Corporation’s Bioscience and Water Filtration Division is comprised of two business units which partner with our customers to address critical needs of humanity.
Our Bioscience Business Unit tackles critical manufacturing challenges, focusing on high purity filtration in industries such as Food & Beverage, Microelectronics, Industrial & Chemical, and Biopharmaceuticals. In addition, we collaborate with Biopharmaceutical leaders to develop bioprocess solutions that enhance production efficiency and scalability through integrated engineering with filtration, sensing, bioprocess containers, single use assemblies, and automated systems.
Our Water Purification Business Unit provides clean water solutions, utilizing advanced reverse osmosis technology to filter and purify industrial and process water across various sectors, including Leisure and Commercial Marine, Off-Shore Oil & Gas, Defense, and Disaster Recovery. The Division Lean and Quality Manager will provide leadership and management for the quality function and sustain the quality philosophy and lean culture for the division. Establish, maintain and optimize an effective quality management system. Create and implement a quality plan to achieve the levels of quality established through organizational goals, customer expectations, related stakeholders and market competition. Enhance and improve the division’s products and services through the implementation of ISO 9001, problem-solving tools, prevention methods, quality-at-the-source and continual improvement techniques. Management Representative for Quality and Lean Systems.
Reports to the division general manager. As management’s representative for quality and lean, manages department resources and coordinates the implementation of the quality management system between business units and locations to cost-effectively facilitate quality and compliance. Interacts routinely with all division functional areas, as well as with customers, field sales, regulatory agencies, group/corporate management, and suppliers.
+ Communicates customer, regulatory and organizational requirements to assure product quality, contract compliance and customer satisfaction.
+ Drives Zero Defects Initiatives throughout all departments.
+ Oversees the effective documentation and implementation of the quality management system to assure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements and the standards set by corporate/division policies.
+ Works with division leadership to ensure that individuals performing functions affecting quality are trained and demonstrate the appropriate skills and performance results.
+ Coordinates necessary division personnel for internal, customer and third-party quality system audits.
+ Maintains a corrective action system to analyze and correct nonconforming conditions and complaints.
+ Implements the performance measurements necessary to effectively evaluate organizational performance and trends in product quality, services, customer satisfaction and the cost of poor quality. Uses the results of performance evaluation to target improvement efforts.
+ Collaborates with Purchasing on the development and implementation of a supplier management strategy.
+ Assess supplier capabilities and monitor supplier quality to ensure desired levels of performance.
+ Collaborates with Engineering on new product development and design review for quality/reliability issues.
+ Guides all Parker Lean System (PLS) initiatives within the division. Works with division staff and plant level management on Lean Implementation using Parker Lean Systems as the principal tool. Ensures the development of a robust Lean Future State Strategy to be implemented division wide.
+ Will ensure adherence to PLS standards at the division for the site, value stream and team improvement boards, enabling a Plan Do Check Act (PDCA) culture and progression of the Lean Journey.
+ Ensures on-going education of all employees at the division in PLS. Promotes a continuous learning environment.
+ B.S. Degree in an Engineering or related discipline.
+ MBA preferred.
+ 5-7 years of manufacturing experience demonstrating a self-starting and hands on approach to lean and quality.
+ Thorough knowledge of International Standard ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems (ISO/TS 16949 as applicable for automotive sector) is mandatory.
+ Certification by the American Society for Quality (ASQ) as a Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB), or Certified Quality Manager (CQ Mgr) is preferred.
+ Knowledge of manufacturing and quality technologies.
+ Experience with quality improvement tools and techniques (i.e., Lean, Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control, and Failure Mode & Effects Analysis).
+ Demonstrated leadership, project management, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.
+ Has successfully led a minimum of ten (10) Kaizen events within a manufacturing environment. Has participated in numerous other Kaizen events preferably in both the manufacturing and office areas.
+ Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range: $147,877 to $202,047
