Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Mid-Level Division Operations Specialist for the Tenants Contract, supporting the Air Force Division at the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) Nuclear Weapons Acquisition Division (AFNWC/NDB) at Eglin AFB, FL.
The U.S. Air Force is developing a new Long-Range Stand-Off (LRSO) nuclear missile. The service plans to field the LRSO by 2030 to replace the current, General Dynamics (now Raytheon) AGM-129A Advanced Cruise Missile (ACM) that originally entered service in 1991. In May 2021, the Air Force awarded an Engineering and Manufacturing Design (EMD) contract to Raytheon Missiles and Defense, Tucson, Arizona. The Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) Nuclear Weapons Acquisition Division (AFNWC/NDB), resident at Eglin AFB, Florida, is the System Program Office (SPO) responsible for the acquisition.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent experience
- 3-10 years relevant experience
- Secret Clearance (US Citizenship required)
- SharePoint experience required
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, expert attention-to-detail & highly organized
- Knowledge of Air Force instructions and operations
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review, code, and update all types of military actions in the MILPDS. Perform audits of military packages involving actions such as; appointments, reassignments, changes to rating official, transfers, etc. Identify and resolve problems encountered during the process and ensure that actions are completed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and established policies and procedures. Identify individual and systems problems and propose appropriate corrective action. As required, brief the Team Chief, Senior Leadership, and Headquarters on findings relative to program and operational deficiencies and propose procedural changes which improve the overall process.
- Manage military personnel programs and provide guidance to managers on regulatory requirements and provisions associated with program administration. Interact with personnel specialists at base level for interpretation of personnel management policies and procedures. Collect and analyze pertinent organizational data related to specific programs and develop statistical and narrative data to justify changes and recommendations. Develop and recommend new or improved management and/or administrative procedures and practices related to program areas. Advise management on the proper submission of program packages and submits packages in a timely manner. Responsible for implementing Directorate policies and guidance on assigned programs and performing collection and data analysis for recommendation of program enhancements.
- Participate in special projects/studies affecting military personnel. Serve on committees and working groups to present functional interests and to participate in the development and implementation of decisions on manpower and management/personnel related matters. Provide support for special projects in areas of expertise.
- Study, analyze, develop and recommend new or improved management and/or administrative instructions, policies, plans, procedures and practices in the areas of manpower, personnel, position management by responding to functional requests, planning, projects and studies.
- Advisor to Director, Division/Branch Chiefs supporting classification and resource management to improve effectiveness of operations through constant evaluation and analysis of productivity, efficiencies and cost. Work new personnel and transformation programs. Provide analyses of stability of organization, due to increased programs, downsizing, short term/ long range planning.
- Coordinate and compile military personnel reports, working with appropriate functional offices to maintain and update databases. Develop and define appropriate means of measuring and tracking data. Provide impact statements or point papers, analyze operation and managerial problems and determine theory techniques to be used to maximize problem solving and optimize resource forecasting.
- Support and participate in the implementation of management programs such as process improvement, other total quality initiatives, safety, security of Air Force assets and information.
- Track military manpower requirement and review position management plans to ensure Air Force specialty codes are accurate. Complete fill actions for military vacancies and requirements. Track incoming military personnel determining potential firm move dates of current personnel and track the status of reviewed evaluation rating. Correct military records and build promotion recommendation packages. Implement the Base Level Service Delivery Model including coordination with the base Military Personnel Flight to ensure quality customer service.
