About the Job
Under general supervision, is responsible for preparing and/or maintaining systems, programming, and operations documentation, procedures and methods including user manuals and reference manuals for the BRAC mission, utilizing IIT and the AR systems to document and report AFCEC/CI transactions. . Maintains a current internal documentation library. Provides or coordinates special documentation services as required. Competent to work at the highest level of all phases of documentation. May act as project leader.
Candidate shall scan documents, uploading them to Administrative Record database to each base and then track each document with Administrative Record number.
Candidate shall have the ability to follow instructions to redact privileged or sensitive information from documentation included in the publicly accessible portion of an AR. Possess the ability to follow extensive rules, procedures, operations, functions and commitments that are applied to the administrative and information records.
Candidate shall have the ability to screen calls and visitors while preparing, reviewing, scanning and editing documents for posting to appropriate Air Force web sites.
Candidate shall operate data capture technology to import digitized documents into document management system and shall optimize and reduce the size of the PDF files using Adobe Acrobat XI Pro.
Identify and classify documents or other electronic content according to characteristics such as security level, function and metadata.
Check every day with the client to see if there are any new documents that they have received.
File and organize each document in the numeric order and based on BRAC base.
Develop, documents, or maintain standards, best practices or system usage procedures.
Consult with end users regarding problems in accessing electronic content.
Indexing and Verify Documents accurately and perform minor scanner setup adjustments.
Creating and deleting user accounts on the local and off-site functional systems as well as implementing and overseeing system security.
Minimum Experience/Requirements
- The Candidate shall have knowledge and provide support in the following areas:
- Four (4) years’ experience in Documentation Management, knowledgeable with IT concepts, practices and procedures.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Possess the ability to receive, categorize, log, and index documents including books, papers, maps, photographs, machine readable materials, PDF or other documentary materials, regardless of physical form or characteristics.
- Possess the ability to follow extensive rules, procedures, operations, functions and commitments that are applied to the administrative and information records.
- Candidate shall possess an active favorable NACI.
Estimated Workload
- Receive and process 5,000 documents annually by scanning/uploading them to Administrative Record database to each base,

- Documentation Specialists shall reside at Lackland to support the large volume of document scanning required annually from 39 different Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Bases, which CLIENT supports.
- The candidate shall receive hardcopy documents from BRAC Bases: scan, load, and tag documents into the Administrative Record (AR) system.
- The candidate shall transport physical documents between the Lackland scanning facility and long-term storage facility as needed.
