Donor Engagement Officer
ABOUT THE POSITION
Lehigh Valley Public Media (LVPM) has an exciting opportunity for a Donor Engagement Officer. The Donor Engagement Officer's primary responsibilities include developing and managing a portfolio of current mid-level and major donors with interests in LVPM's evolving community public service mission. Additional responsibilities include strategic identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individual prospects with capacity of $1,000.00+.

Lehigh Valley Public Media is a growing public media company and home to LehighValleyNews.com, the area's only nonprofit and locally operated digital news platform as well as public media television station PBS39 and NPR radio station WLVR 91.3 that offer local, national, and international programming that informs, educates, and entertains. Our education team helps thousands of students and educators at home, at school, and in the community through television programming, outreach services, and other special programs and events.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES FOR A SUCCESSFUL MEMBERSHIP DIRECTOR
- Drive major giving activities of portfolio to meet and exceed budgeted revenue goals.
- Provide weekly pipeline and activity reports to VP Development.
- Conduct at least twelve (12) donor meetings (in-person and virtual) per month (120 per year).
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage a portfolio of 150-175 major planned giving prospects.
- Maintain a robust knowledge of organization-wide funding priorities and a general knowledge of all content, education, community engagement programming.
- Work in collaboration with the Development staff, Senior Leadership, and the Board of Directors to build a pipeline and create meaningful relationships.
- Plan and implement donor centric activities for identified prospects - i.e., personalized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts, preparation of proposals, arranging meetings with prospective donors, documenting all activities in database, etc.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS:
- SKILLS
- Proven written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to translate the organization's efforts to existing and prospective donors.
- Demonstrated successful history of fundraising.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and fundraising CRMs.
- KNOWLEDGE
- Demonstrated ability to oversee multiple, complex fundraising activities simultaneously.
- Well versed in development revenue-generation, fundraising CRMs, and donor relations.
- Possess a thorough understanding of LVPM's strategic plan and priorities to build initiative-taking relationships and serve as ambassador of organization throughout the Lehigh Valley.
- EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years of progressive fundraising experience, preferably in major gifts, mid-level giving, or annual leadership giving for public media, higher education, or similar complex organization. Planned giving experience a plus.

- Interest in all aspects of public media and a dedication to promoting LVPM's fundraising priorities.
OTHER WORK REQUIREMENTS:
- The position requires occasional evening and weekend hours for development events.
- As you will/may be driving a company vehicle or your own vehicle regularly, a valid driver's license and a safe driving record as determined by a driver's license background check is required for this position.
