About the Job
JOB REQUIREMENTS: SUMMARY Prepare detailed working drawings of products,
parts, machinery and mechanical devices, including dimensions, fastening
methods, and other engineering information. Transform initial rough
product designs using computer aided design (CAD) into working
documents. Create BOM's, routes and drawings. Support other departments
and answer questions from internal and external customers. Review
current engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to
established specifications and standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Develop
detailed design drawings and specifications for products, parts,
mechanical equipment, dies/tools, and controls, using computer-assisted
drafting (CAD) equipment. Coordinate with and consult other workers to
design, layout, or detail components and systems and to resolve design
or other problems. Review and analyze specifications, sketches,
drawings, Bill of Materials, routes and related data to assess factors
affecting component designs and the procedures and instructions to be
followed. Produce and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Routes as
required. Create prototype drawings and follow them through the
prototype runs, design rework, final runs, final BOMs, Routes and
drawings as required. Compute mathematical formulas to develop and
design detailed specifications for components or machinery, using
computer-assisted equipment. Complete Blue Sheets (New Product Request
Form), Goldenrod Sheets (Pricing Only Request Form) and Engineering
Change Notices (ECNs) accurately and within specified time periods as
required. Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or
to reduce production problems. Design scale or full-size blueprints.
Layout and draw schematic, orthographic, or angle views to depict
functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and
machines. Print drawings for Production Department, as needed. Perform
any other duties as assigned. Responsible for generating team spirit and
creating and maintaining a personal attitude and work environment that
fosters the highest level of employee cooperation, morale and
satisfaction. * OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: An
Associate's Degree; or one to two years related experience and/or
training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is
required. Experience with CAD software is required (preferably
