Title: Draftsman Engineer
Location: McIntosh, AL 36553 United States
Duration: 12 months
Shift: Day shift M-F
Pay: $50/hr
**Job Responsibilities:**
- Prepare and verify drawings, layouts, specifications, charts, and bills of materials with minimal supervision.
- Create and update Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) drawings throughout design and Management of Change (MOC) processes.
- Assemble I&E design packages for use in construction.
- Provide design support during all phases of projects.
- Assist Process Engineering, Maintenance, and Unit personnel with design requirements.
- Create and maintain standard drawings, including instrument installation details, templates, and bills of materials.
- Enter project information and work requests, track and coordinate job and project progress.
- Review vendor and contractor drawings and engineering work packages.
- Ensure project documents conform to technical standards, global practices, and drafting standards for quality assurance.
- Interpret and adhere to company CAD Standards, industry standards, and relevant regulatory and design codes for specific jobs and projects.
- Assist in gathering and delivering design and engineering data on-site as needed.
- Maintain a strong awareness and commitment to health, safety, and environmental issues, addressing them to ensure zero harm to employees and contractors.
**Job Requirements:**
- Ability to conduct field walkdowns.
- Proficiency in MicroStation CAD software.
- Experience reviewing Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Suite.
- Knowledge of industrial computer systems, motor control, PLC, DCS, and SIS.
- Capability to work on-site at a chemical plant with flexible work arrangements as possible.
- Independently produce instrument location plans, wiring and loop diagrams, instrument installation details, and instrument hookup details.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
- Experience with infrared inspections of overhead power lines and Motor Control cubicles.
**Preferred Experience:**
- Working knowledge of SAP, Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI), and InTools.
**Education:**
- Associate degree in engineering or a scientific discipline and 5-8 years of relevant experience, or completion of specialized courses in drafting, design, and engineering practices with two additional years of experience.
