We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell V-280 Valor Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA), part of the US Army’s Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort, and a next generation stop-fold tilt-rotor as part of the DARPA SPRINT program. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless and designing upgrade kits for the legacy fleet. This position is onsite in Fort Worth; however, exceptions for alternate work arrangements may be considered.
Drive System Analysis Engineer (across multiple levels)
Bell is seeking a Drive System Analysis Engineer to join one of many development and production programs. The Drive System Analysis Engineer at Bell is responsible for analysisactivities related to the preparation and release of engineering data for complex mechanical components,including gears, bearings, shafts, housings, lubrication systems, and other supporting components. Drive system analysis engineers support the manufacturing, assembly and validation of these mechanical components at Bell’s drive system manufacturing and test lab facilities in the DFW metroplex. Finally, the drive system analysis engineer validates compliance with all best practices customer and industry specifications in support of air vehicle performance and safety requirements. This position will have the opportunity to mentor under more experienced engineers and subject matter experts. This position is located at Bell’s headquarters facility in Ft. Worth, TX.
What you’ll be doing as a Drive System Analysis Engineer
+ Create detail, assembly and installation drive system design definition utilizing FEM software and other various analytical tools.
+ Support manufacturing and testing of drive system components and sub-systems interpreting technical data and assisting in product improvements.
+ Improve detail, assembly and installation drive system design definition utilizing FEM software and other various analytical tools.
+ Participate in a cross functional team environment completing a variety of objectives depending on the program lifecycle assigned.
+ Advance the state-of-the-art drive system through creative thought, personal and team research, technical compliance and strong analysis skills.
Qualifications
Skills you bring to this role:
+ Multiple levels will be considered for this position with a minimum of 2 years' mechanical design experience required.
+ Proficiency with analysis of complex mechanical machines using FEM analysis software (ANSYS), and/or other mechanical component analysis software (Mathcad, Matlab, ABJones, KIMOS, AGMA related analysis tools).
+ Proficiency with basic office computer software, specifically the Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
+ Experience analyzing, manufacturing, assembling and/or troubleshooting complex mechanical machines.
+ Demonstrated work in a team environment and ability to effectively communication within the team.
+ Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize a variety of activities and tasks.
What you need to be successful:
+ We are looking for inquisitive and driven engineers with a passion to innovate.
+ Bachelor’s degree with a Major in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
- Advanced degrees will be considered as additional experience.
- Related degrees with relevant experience will be considered.
