Job Description
Join a leading logistics organization as a Driver Manager, where you will manage a fleet of drivers, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of customer service. This role offers hands-on training in driver and equipment management, customer service, and transportation logistics.
Responsibilities
- Learn the business from the ground up through a hands-on training program.
- Maintain a high level of engagement and cultivate positive working relationships with assigned drivers.
- Review scheduled pick-up and delivery appointments daily.
- Ensure each driver is fully informed of all customer and company expectations at the point of dispatch.
- Coordinate drivers’ scheduled home time, downtime, current status, and predicted time available.
- Address safety non-conformance and violations/incidents.
- Escalate matters impacting on-time delivery to appropriate departments as they occur.
- Proactively call drivers each day to check in, ensure they are on-time for their loads, and deal with any driver issues.
- Issue disciplinary action on the drivers when needed and may have to terminate drivers from time to time.
Essential Skills
- Customer service experience.
- Data entry proficiency.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to type at least 40-45 wpm (preferred).
- Computer proficiency and ability to navigate between multiple programs.
- Self-motivated with a desire to learn about the growing transportation industry.
- Strong multi-tasking ability.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Former driver experience is a plus, provided they haven't worked as a driver within the last year.
- Employment within the last year is required.
- Candidates must be tech-savvy.

Work Environment
This full-time, in-office position is located in south Olathe, KS. Training will be Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm for the first 60 days, with the first month in a classroom setting. Post-training schedules include Monday – Friday, 5:00am – 3:00pm or 7:00am – 5:00pm, or weekends Friday – Monday, 5:00am – 5:00pm. The role involves sitting at a desk with a headset on for most of the day, managing a heavy volume of phone calls.
