DSI Fire Safety Inspector I - City of Saint Paul

About the Job
The City of Saint Paul Department of Safety and Inspections is hiring an individual to perform entry level technical work conducting routine exterior grounds and interior building inspections to enforce laws, ordinances, rules and regulations relating to the Fire Inspection and Certificate of Occupancy programs.
Here’s what you can expect to do:
- Conduct limited routine inspections, complaint investigations, and enforcement actions to determine compliance status and identify violations.
- Assist other staff with inspections and progressive enforcement actions for non-compliance.
- Apply standards of City codes and State laws to investigation and inspection assignments.
- Issue orders of corrective actions for noncompliance.
- Assist in providing life safety training programs to the public.
- Assist with preparing routine documents, forms, and reports related to inspections, investigations, and compliance.
