Dump Truck Driver - Hiring Now at Sunshine Disposal Inc

Sunshine Disposal & Recycling has an opening for a Refuse Truck Driver for our rural routes. This job is Monday-Friday, 5:00am -2:00pm. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each of the essential duties/responsibilities listed below. This job is performed using a rear-load style truck.

1. Arrives to work on time and receives paperwork and/or tablet. Performs Pre-trip inspection of the truck to make sure everything is operating correctly, maintenance is not necessary, and all equipment/systems are safe to operate. Completes DVIR form in accordance with state, local and federal regulations. If maintenance is necessary, reports conditions to Supervisor before moving truck. Heads onto route when all systems are operating properly.
2. Drives truck on fixed routes in same geographic area on a daily and weekly basis; using provided route information and maps. Moves carts into position as needed for truck to dump, as well as extra items, on residential routes.
3. Opens and closes container enclosures as needed on Commercial service routes. Positions containers and or carts by pulling or pushing.
4. Communicates effectively with the Lead Driver and Operations Manager to ensure that there are no dispatch issues or issues with the route for the particular day. Reports any issues encountered immediately to the Lead Driver or Operations Manager.
5. Dumps/empties the truck at the end of the day at the appropriate location. Performs basic clean out of truck body and cab.
6. Performs vehicle post trip inspection after route is completed and driver has returned to terminal for the day, completes post-trip DVIR and lets the Lead Driver and Maintenance shop know of any maintenance areas necessary.
7. Submits route work information via tablet data and paper notes containing extra charges and other customer notes each day.
8. Attends all necessary meetings as scheduled including safety, training and other company scheduled meetings at locations as directed by the company.
9. Performs special projects for the Operation Manager and other management team members.
10. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Class A or B CDL Required

USDOT Medical Certificate (Med card) required

Must meet insurance carrier requirements

Must comply with all USDOR/FMCSA drug and alcohol screening rules

Lifting/pulling up to 50 pounds throughout the day

Compensation details: 27.32-27.82 Hourly Wage
