Electrical & Instrumentation Designer
Contract to hire
Suffolk, VA Area
$40-$50/hr plus benefits
               
Education / Certification / Experience Requirements:

• AS Degree in Electrical, Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent.
• 5 plus years of related experience in a Design Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering role.
• 5 plus years of Electrical, Instrumentation or Controls installation experience
• Advanced knowledge of technical standards and guidelines (API, NEC, NFPA, IEEE, etc.)

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• Responsible for Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls Design for Capital Projects.
• Supporting Engineering and Construction Contractors on an as needed basis.
• Able to coordinate with Engineering Design Team and/or Outside Engineering Resources.
• Supporting Operations and Maintenance as a technical resource when needed.
• Being able to understand and apply industry codes that apply to an industrial manufacturer.
• Provides instrumentation and controls design support to all phases of project design, execution, installation, commissioning and operation.
