Position Overview
Our client, a growing company in the Houston Metro Area, is seeking an Interim Controller to manage full-cycle month-end accounting processes. This role involves overseeing day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, and providing key financial insights to support decision-making. The Interim Controller will work on-site 4 days a week with 1 remote day and may need to travel to client sites as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle month-end accounting, including general ledger management, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Manage accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and other core accounting functions.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory standards, maintaining strong internal controls.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports to provide insights to senior leadership for decision-making.
• Collaborate with the finance team on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic financial planning.
• Manage financial audits, working closely with external auditors to ensure accurate and compliant reporting.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Ensure tax compliance by managing tax filings and other regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Interim Controller or senior accounting professional.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience managing month-end close processes, financial statements, and audits.
• Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and influence senior leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA preferred.

Compensation

• Hourly rate ranging from $55 to $85 per hour, depending on experience.
