About the Job
This position provides a unique opportunity to standardize and harmonize across different departments and programs with the goal of improving the quality of the maintenance being performed at each of the Sterigenics operating sites. With Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program as a strategic priority, and Maintenance and Reliability program as a mission critical objective for Global Engineering, this role will develop analysis methods to determine reliability of components, equipment and processes to determine the required reliability approach with consideration given to limitations for equipment uptime/downtime, repair/replacement costs which will result in higher performance levels of the sites and overall improved workplace safety and compliance.
Works with other engineers and receives guidance in the use of company standards and procedures for use in reliability analysis specific to the component/equipment. Gathers and examines reliability data from studying specific metrics like failure rates, bad-actor identification and remediations, MTBF (mean-time-between-failures). Critical asset and spare part identification and management, and historical downtime reductions will be essential for the success of this role. A solid related education with relevant CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management Systems), lean manufacturing, maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment experience will be fundamental requirements. Experience and general knowledge of safety, quality, operation, developing procedures and training is desirable.
The EAM Specialist will be expected to autonomously lead, develop, and execute on responsibilities with course directions set by the Global Engineering leadership team. This role will be well connected with other key leaders with defined roles across the spectrum of the Maintenance and Reliability and work in a matrixed oriented organization. The EAM Specialist will liaise routinely with Maintenance, Engineering, Operation, Quality, EHS, OpEx, Purchasing, Legal and Finance as required to ensure stakeholder alignment.
Active travel to facilities will be necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities
Expand Capacity to Support Growth
- Advance the development of the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) as Sterigenics CMMS application:
- Consolidate: ensure accuracy and completeness of spare parts inventory; introduce equipment classes; optimize current PM program; maintain the application version to the latest available
- Integrate: Integrate EAM with other application like ERP, equipment control and monitoring systems
- Optimize: Develop appropriate KPI reports and statistical approach to identifying deficient equipment
Maximize Investment Returns
- Use existing and develop new methodologies for a proactive and predictive maintenance approach that will reduce the amount of unplanned downtime by allowing for most maintenance to be planned for times when equipment is not scheduled for operation
- Periodically evaluate the condition of the equipment to proactively prevent deterioration and mechanical failures
- Integrate maintenance in the production process and promote a gradual shift in traditional thinking of maintenance as a separate entity

Education, Experience and Skills Required
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, statistics or equivalent
- 5+ years' experience, with proven autonomous technical and maintenance management responsibilities
- Comfort in executing responsibilities within a highly matrixed organization
- Robust lean manufacturing skills
- Proven record of supporting field service activities such as equipment trouble shooting and repair
- Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) knowledge
- Mechanical aptitude
- Specific desired areas of knowledge include:
- Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Mechanical systems knowledge - HVAC, fluid flow, boilers, chillers, Pumps, conveyance systems
- Regulatory environment knowledge - FDA
- Operational Excellence experience: Lean Six Sigma, 5S, etc.
- Solid communication skills - written, verbal, presentation
- Disciplined/structured approach
- Experience in an FDA regulated environment
- Familiar with P&IDs
- French and/or Spanish as a second language is advantageous
- Solid business acumen.
