Teaching in a nonprofit, City of Madison Accredited Child Care Center
Red Caboose Child Care Center is in our brand-new spacious home and we are ready to open new classrooms! Come and join our amazing team to provide high-quality care and education for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years. We also have opportunities in our school age program caring for children aged 5 to 12 years.

Responsibilities
- This person must provide direct care for children; plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities designed to meet the social-emotional, cognitive, creative and physical needs of children in a particular program; work together with other staff; communicate with parents; and provide a warm and safe environment for children to grow and learn.
- Must be able to treat each child and their families with respect, dignity, and caring; and be supportive of cultural differences, special needs, and different family structures.
- Teacher reports to and is responsible to the Lead Teacher; is supervised and evaluated by Lead Teacher.
- Must be available to work varying shifts in any classroom in the center Monday through Friday
- Also paid 2 hours of Planning and Meeting Time
Current Openings for current and future classrooms: We are looking for teachers in our infant, 2-year-old, 3-year-old, mixed age groups, and four-year-old classrooms. We are also looking for float teachers, and teachers in our school age programs!
Start Date: Fall 2024, positions are open until filled
Job Type: Full and Part Time positions are available
Salary: $17.15-$18.95 based on education and experience

Experience, training and other requirements:
- Education - Must meet State Licensing requirements for teacher (3 credits in child development or 80 hours child care specific classes); prefer Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or AA/BS in Child Development, preschool education or related field
- Experience - Must meet State Licensing requirements for Teacher; prefer at least one year experience with toddler children.
- Skills - demonstrate flexibility, age-appropriate problem solving, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. Request Job Description for full requirements and skills needed.
