The story of our organization begins in 1993, when Texas created a workforce development system that made significant efforts to improve service delivery through local control and coordination of services from different programs. On May 23, 1996, Governor George W. Bush certified the North Central Texas Workforce Development Area (WDA) and on July 25, 1996, the Chief Elected Officials of the 14-county WDA signed a partnership agreement forming the North Central Texas Workforce Development Board and selected the North Central Texas Council of Governments as its fiscal agent, grant recipient and administrative agent. Our WDA includes Collin, Denton, Ellis, Erath, Hood, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Navarro, Palo Pinto, Parker, Rockwall, Somervell and Wise counties.
Description of the Opportunity:
The team is searching for an Early Childhood Program Coordinator; they will play a crucial role in organizing, coordinating, and implementing activities and operational functions related to the Texas Rising Star Program.
Primary responsibilities include tracking data for various projects, assigning early learning programs to Early Childhood Specialists, completing compliance screenings as required, conducting orientations, and providing technical assistance to Early Learning Programs (ELPs). Communicating documentation requirements to ELPs, staff, and partners to ensure case management systems contain timely and accurate information and completing internal and external reports as needed. The Early Childhood Program Coordinator will plan, execute, and manage unique initiatives within the child care unit.
Other responsibilities include:
- Tracking and reporting ELPs status through the Texas Rising Star process. Monitor and communicate timelines/deadlines internally/externally for ELPs related to their Texas Rising Star eligibility and certification.
- Administer compliance screenings for designated programs, and track, monitor, and document deficiencies and other required information in appropriate systems within the required time limits.
- Coordinate and conduct presentations, training, and orientations for ELPs, Early Childhood Specialists, subrecipients, and other stakeholders as needed to educate or provide technical assistance regarding program requirements/expectations.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of an annual schedule of professional development opportunities available to ELPs.
- Serves as a point of contact to send letters and formal correspondence to ELPs as needed about required participation or status in the Texas Rising Star program.
- Collects, organizes, analyzes, and prepares materials in response to requests for program information and required reports.

Required Education & Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience required
- Bachelor’s degree required (a total of 7 years of experience may be substituted for education)
Compensation:
- $54,009.00 -$70,000.00 - depending on skills, qualifications and experience
- FLSA: Exempt
