About the Job
As an Early Childhood Senior Content Strategist, you will develop content strategies and execute practices to help government client agencies address human services and public health challenges by better engaging with target audiences (e.g., early childhood educators, state government public health personnel, researchers, members of diverse communities). Working with senior BLH staff and the IT team, you will lead the development, optimization, and management of content for an early childhood education website, supporting its mission to deliver resources, information, and support to parents, educators, and the broader early education/Head Start community. The ideal candidate will have expertise in content strategy, SEO, and user experience, with a strong understanding of early childhood education or public health topics.
Duties include but are not limited to:
· Developing and implementing a comprehensive content strategy that addresses the needs of target audiences, including parents, educators, and administrators.
· Researching, writing, editing, and organizing timely content that is clear, engaging, and tailored for diverse audiences. Ensuring application of federal plain language guidelines and accessibility practices. Identifying opportunities for enhanced content placement and repurposing.
· Conducting thorough research on industry trends and audience preferences.
· Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders and content creators to ensure content aligns with the site's goals, federal guidelines, and accessibility standards.
· Ensuring content is available in both English and Spanish.
· Collaborating with UX experts on content design and information architecture and with SEO experts to implement SEO best practices to improve organic reach and user engagement.
· Data gathering, reporting, and analytics using tools such as Google Analytics.
Requirements:
· Bachelor's or master's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field. Degree or certifications related to digital marketing preferred; master's degree preferred.
· A minimum of five years of experience. This includes:
o At least two years engaged in high level content organization and information architecture for a website with 2,000+ pieces of content
o At least two years engaged in various aspects of UX design and professional social media.
o Experience with human services or public health organizations, with a preference for early childhood service delivery.
· A portfolio of work that demonstrates strong understanding of content strategy deliverables (e.g., content strategies; content design; UX writing).
· Demonstrated ability to analyze, aggregate, and act on data gathered from multiple sources.
· Proficiency with Google Analytics and Drupal 10.
· Proficiency in English and Spanish.
