Early Childhood Specialist - Classroom Coach - Early Childhood Connections

We are currently hiring for a full time Early Childhood Specialist-Classroom Coach to join our team in Rapid City, SD.  

The Early Childhood Specialist provides training and coaching for early childhood professionals and caregivers to optimize the learning environment and outcomes for children.  This position is responsible for   classroom assessment, collaborative planning, technical assistance, and coaching for classrooms and educators.  The position is accountable to the Executive Director. 

Required Qualifications 

• Child Development Associate Certification or an associate degree in education.
• A minimum of 3-4 years working directly with children in a classroom or childcare center.
• Driver license, clean driving record, auto insurance, and access to a personal vehicle.
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug screening. 
• Able to pass a background check without history in the following areas:  
  • Active charges or convictions of sexual crimes.
  • Active charges or convictions against children or elderly.
  • Active charges or convictions of a violent offense.
  • Active charges or convictions of a felony offense.

Preferred Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in education or a human services field.

This is classified as a full-time, exempt position with an annual salary and paid time off provided.  Work is typically conducted Monday through Friday with a minimum of one evening per week and occasional weekends for organizational events.
