Echo Sonographer - Part-Time

Under the supervision and direction of the physician the cardiac sonographer is responsible for performing, documenting and communicating the results of the diagnostic 2D and M-Mode echocardiographic procedures as well as stress echocardiograms. The sonographers also responsible for the hook up, disconnect and downloading of the holter monitors.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Maintains and operates echo and Holter equipment, including performing 2D and M-Mode echocardiograms, Doppler color flow, treadmill tests, and Holter monitoring.
- Calculates and submits accurate flow velocities, valve areas, and pressure gradients, ensuring the quality of exams and preliminary reports for physician review.
- Communicates critical results to physicians urgently and maintains accurate records for ICAEL re-certification, including peer review and quality assurance.
- Ensures cleanliness and proper stocking of echo and Holter supplies, and accurately enters codes on Medent.
- Coordinates with office management and front desk to manage workload effectively, while observing universal precautions and adhering to OSHA regulations and infection control policies.
- Maintains patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines, responds to triages and emails promptly, and provides patient education.
- Participates in clinical educational programs to enhance professional competence and maintain certification.
Required Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma and graduation from an AMA-approved health field education program.
- Current certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in adult cardiac imaging (RDMS) and BLS certification.
- Demonstrated clinical competency according to organizational standards.
- Proficiency with the practice management system, EMR, and scheduling protocols.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Basic keyboard skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Maintains highest level of confidentiality at all times with both patient and organizational information.
- High level of accuracy when performing duties.
- Exceptional service attitude and communication style.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand/sit for long periods while performing ultrasound studies. Ability to push ultrasound equipment throughout hospital for bedside testing.

Pay Range Disclosure:
- $43.00 to $45.00 per hour
