Description:
Provide application engineering support in the role of a system admin for the customer's ecommerce .com site. This person will be responsible for monitoring the application and providing technical support to customer's ecommerce .com site while verifying the integrity and availability of computing resources.
Responsibilities:
- User administration: Managing user accounts, access rights, and permissions
- Technical support: Providing technical support and resolving software and hardware problems
- Maintaining systems: Maintaining the information systems and their data
- Monitoring system performance: Monitoring network and system performance
- Installing and updating systems: Installing and configuring software, hardware, and networks
- Security: Ensuring security and efficiency of IT infrastructure
- Database administration: Maintaining system performance and efficiency
- Documentation: Creating documentation to identify the expertise and skills required in the team
- Disaster recovery planning: Planning for disaster recovery
- Tracking emerging technologies: Tracking emerging technologies and implementing them in the organization
- Account setup: Performing account setup for new and old employees
- Data backup: Creating a backup and safeguarding the data
Techinical Skills Required:
- 5 years of Java experience (but open to .Net/ Python/ Scala) or at least 3 years of experience in with master's degree in computer science or related field.
- IT Service Management (ITSM) experience
- Cloud environment deployment experience - relates to large scale environments, but also "how can we measure and tune" verse guessing at configurations settings, understanding contain builds and how they run in Kubernetes
- Understanding system and application memory and CPU patterns
- Understand the data we collect in AppD and Grafana, and be able to answer questions like "are we healthy and stable"?
- Having strong Linux skills - Being able to access containers, processes, and debug directly on systems
Desired Skills:
- eCommerce experience, especially HCL Commerce version 9
- Expertise in Linux operating systems
- Expertise with relational databases support, querying and database reporting
- Experience with AWS services: EC2, S3, VPC, Route 53, RDS, CloudFormation, EC2, Lambda, logging/CloudWatch, IAM, Certificate Manager, EBS, CloudFront/WAF, SQS, SNS, EKS, and SES.
- Knowledge of secure coding and personal identifiable information (PII) handling
- Network experience including firewalls and DNS
- Working experience with SQL, JSON, and KQL
- Expertise with high availability architecture
Soft Skills Required:
- Good communication, problem solver, prioritization, works well within a team and can perform on their own.
- Need a very strong problem manager. Someone who is willing to dive into problems that are technical in nature and bring the right SME's together to discuss, document, and assign actions with strict timelines.
- Presentation skills required to be able to present monthly metrics on incidents, problems, changes, and AZDO RCA stories.
- Capable leader to lead meetings with multiple teams and SME's.
Education & Experience Required:
- Requires a college or university degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in application support.
