REPORTS TO: Regional Patient Access Manager
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create schedule, approve time off, track clock in and clock out and update to approve time card for bi-weekly payroll
- Monitoring tim and attendance and drafting corrective action forms for staff
- Performance eval and drafting the performance eval
- Daily deposits - every other day
- They round on the floor, coach and mentor, handle issues and challenges, nitrating we EMS, nurses and doctors
- Most EDs did not have 1st and 2nd shift supervision so these roles are crucial! They need to know they are going to go in here and really execute and implement change. Someone who is a thinker, motivated and wants to grow and bring ideas to the table
Job Summary
Oversees the daily registration functions within Patient Accesss scope of work. Ensures the operational unit is staff appropriately. Promotes a positive patient experience for patients and families. Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication and customer service skills when interacting with staff, patients, families, and leadership. Supervises efficient and compliant registration processes ensuring regulatory and compliance requirements including adherence to departmental and institutional protocols. Prioritizes responsibilities to complete daily work requirements, resolves departmental and patient problems as needed and monitors key performance metrics to ensure goals are achieved. |

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required):
Knowledge of patient registration, third-party insurance coverage including manage care plans, benefits, authorizations/referrals and coverage requirements |
Proficient with Computer and Microsoft Office skills and familiar with healthcare EHR applications i.e. EPIC, Cerner |
Excellent written and oral communication skills |
Requires the use of problem solving and decision-making skills in a variety of complex situation |
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills |
Strong quality assurance and critical thinking skills are necessary for this role |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Education: |
Associates degree in healthcare or business admin required or in lieu of degree a minimum of 5 years of work experience in a physician office or hospital setting |
AND |
Experience: |
Minimum of 2 years of patient registration experience required |
Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a physician practice or hospital environment required |
Minimum Certifications, Registration or License Requirements:

HFMA Certifications preferred |
COMPENSATION:
- Low: $64,000/yr
- Mid: $80k/yr (between 6-10 yrs)
- High: $96/yr
