POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs activities which assist the patient in meeting basic human needs and activities of daily living, providing basic patient care to patients under the direction of the RN, mid-level provider, or physician. Assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment.Reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must have certification in Basic Life Support upon hire or receive certification within a month after hire and maintain certification during employment with ECHN in this role.
EXPERIENCE:
- At least one (1) recent year experience as an Emergency Medical Technician, Clinical Medical Assistant/Certified Nurse Assistant or at least one (1) current year patient care experience.
COMPETENCIES:
- Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English and have basic personal computer skills.
- Must be capable of taking swift and efficient action, including patient restraint when responding to patient emergency codes.
