Ed Tech Qualifications:
- Interest, enthusiasm, and experience working with high school age students with
individual learning and/or behavioral needs.
• State authorization at the Educational Technician III level.
Ed Tech Responsibilities:
- • Supervise small groups of students in the classroom under the direction of the
teacher.
• Ability to form strong relationships with students through classroom teaching.
• Work one to one with students on as needed basis.
• Ability to employ a broad array of methods to assist students to move from
dependent learners to self- directed learners.
• Review and reinforce learning previously introduced by the classroom teacher or
appropriate content specialist or assist in drill or practice activities.
• Communicate and collaborate regularly and openly with all staff.
• Assist in the preparation of instructional materials; and provide classroom
management functions.
• Introduce new learning pre-planned in consultation with the classroom teacher or
appropriate content specialist and supervise small groups of students in communitybased programs.
• Familiarity with the common core standards and willing to work within a projectbased curriculum.
• Familiarity with Restorative Justice Practices and Positive Behavioral Intervention
System.
• Interest/enthusiasm for improving skills by attending professional development
opportunities as appropriate.
• Reports all incidents of work-related accident/illness within 24 hours; maintain a safe
work environment; ensure that a safe environment is maintained in the workplace by
adhering to all safety rules and requirements (Safety Policies) and report any safety
hazards to immediate supervisor.
• Such other duties as may be assigned.
• Demonstrates awareness and sensitivity to the cultural and socioeconomic
characteristics of the service population.
