POSITION SUMMARY/PURPOSE: Oversee the receipt and transmission of all EDI documents and user support at client site, Perform software troubleshooting. Help with managing system setups/Set up new EDI business, assist with documentation and support of custom code.
OVERVIEW - KEY JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage/administer the receipt and transmission of all EDI documents and user support to include configuration/mapping, testing, debugging, code modifications and implement EDI processes with process owner. Support / lead in-depth analysis of business problems; Conduct research to identify and resolve data errors and implement alternative technologies, software, and/or procedural solutions and maintain communication links with business partners. Develop and implement EDI solutions to automate business processes for automotive customers using custom programming and COT solutions.
KEY JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage and administer end-to-end process of receiving, processing, and transmitting all electronic data interchange (EDI) documents.
Monitor EDI transactions to ensure timely and accurate transmission of data between internal systems and external trading partners.
Implement/maintain EDI document standards, including ANSI X12, EDIFACT, and other industry-specific formats.
Provide user support, including configuration/mapping, testing, debugging, code modifications, and troubleshooting.
Conduct training sessions for internal stakeholders to enhance their understanding of EDI processes, tools, and best practices.
Subject matter expert (SME) for EDI-related inquiries, collaborate with vendors, cross-functional teams to address issues/user requirements & needs.
Collaborate with process owners to implement EDI processes and ensure compliance with business requirements.
Support and lead in-depth analysis of business problems related to EDI processes.
Conduct research to identify/resolve data errors and implement alternative solutions.
Maintain communication links with business partners to ensure seamless EDI transactions.
Identify root causes of issues through data analysis, system diagnostics, and collaboration with business stakeholders.
Propose and implement solutions to improve data accuracy, process efficiency, and overall EDI performance.
Stay abreast of emerging technologies, software tools, and industry trends in EDI and supply chain management.
Evaluate alternative technologies, software packages, and procedural solutions to enhance EDI capabilities and address business needs.
Recommend software upgrades, system enhancements, and process improvements to optimize EDI operations and achieve strategic objectives.
Utilize custom programming and COTS solutions to design and implement EDI solutions.
Ensure compliance with EDI standards and best practices

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field.
EXPERIENCE:
Understanding of Electronic Data Interchange, operating systems, and networking fundamentals.
Collaboration and Vendor Management: Experience in working with trading partners and vendors to establish and maintain EDI connections, negotiate requirements, and manage ongoing relationships.
EDI Standards and Protocols: Proficiency with various EDI standards such as ANSI X12, EDIFACT. Experience in setting up and configuring these protocols is crucial.
EDI Software and Tools: Extensive experience with EDI software solutions such as IBM Sterling, OpenText, PentaSAP. This includes configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining these systems.
Mapping and Translation: Ability to create and manage EDI maps and translate documents between EDI and other formats (e.g., XML, CSV). Hands-on experience with data transformation tools is essential.
Integration Techniques: Experience with integration middleware and techniques that facilitate the exchange of data between disparate systems. Knowledge of APIs, web services (SOAP, REST), and other integration platforms.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS- REQUIRED: LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS- PREFERRED:
Certified EDI Professional (CEP) and or EDI Mapping Tools Certification
Experience in the automotive industry or related field.
Knowledge of automotive EDI transactions (e.g., 810,820,830,850,862) is a must.
Certification in EDI or related technologies is desirable.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Advanced knowledge of Information Technology (IT) as it relates to electronic data interchange (EDI).
Skill in analyzing and evaluation of complex EDI issues.
Skill in performing research. Skill in managing tasks assigned self and others outside organization.
Skill in communicating effectively both orally and in writing.
Skill in editing and reviewing written communications prepared by others.
Ability to analyze and evaluate highly complicated and technical EDI and other information and translate it into a concise/ understandable document and oral presentation for leadership team.
Ability to prioritize time and work on multiple projects with multiple deadlines.
Ability to work well with internal staff, outside agency staff, and other agencies like auditors.
Ability to verify requests from internal and external stakeholders and provide concise prioritized actions-based requirements, concerns and needs. Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools. i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, E-Mail, Project, SharePoint and Internet.
SKILLS & ABILITIES- OTHER:
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Japanese language skill is preferred. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and support development of procedure manuals. Ability to present information and facilitate question and answer discussion among groups of managers and teammates.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of EDI document standards, including ANSI X12, EDIFACT, and other industry-specific formats; knowledge of the MS suite M365, Project Management and Database software a plus.
