About the Job
Under the direction of the Director of Information Technology, this position is responsible for performing specific tasks in support of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) processes. This includes development and mapping of EDI file formats, such as 834/837, daily monitoring of EDI file processing, troubleshooting issues impacting successful receipt or delivery of files, setup and testing of new integrations with vendors, comfortable mapping data from the backend DB to the various EDI files as well as from the EDI files back into the relational database. Major functions include:
* Develop mapping and translations between data elements for file feeds
* Coordinates with business owners, vendors, and project leadership to ensure timelines and outcomes are met
* Gather requirements for internal reports, analytics, and external vendor data extracts
* Establish and set up file transfer protocols or other various means of connection with outside vendors
* Queries and analyzes data in various systems
* Documents the solution to include tech specifications, data mappings, and other design documents to be maintained in a common repository
* Participates in code reviews
* Monitors file movement processes, X12 data load processes, etc.
* Develop code for file system import

Required Experience:
Knowledge and Experience:
* Healthcare experience/Familiarity with HIPAA X12 transactions, e.g., 837, 834, 835
* Knowledge of software development lifecycle with the ability to lead efforts to create new or modify existing data extracts, reports, and applications
* At least 2 years of experience in related work with progression of responsibility
* Ability to manage projects using project management concepts and tools
* Interpret and/or discuss information with others, which involves terminology or concepts not familiar to many people.
* 4-year degree or equivalent work experience
Skills:
* Fluent with EDI data integration software such as IBM Gentran or Actian DataConnect
* Strong knowledge and use of Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Visio
* Experience with MS SQL Server and the ability to create SSIS packages
* Exposure to enterprise file transfer systems
* Ability to work with a variety of file formats and specifications
* Integration Map Development - EDI, Application Files, Database
* Ability to skillfully react to a fluid and constantly changing work environment
* Programming experience of any kind (scripting, .Net, Java) will be a plus
* Solid troubleshooting skills and demonstrated ability of end-to-end problem management and ownership
* Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments
* Able to prepare project plans, procedures, diagrams, and other technical documentation
