The Editorial Assistant works with members of the Scientific Publishing department in the day-to-day operations by providing administrative support to all publishing partners, including but not limited to correspondence with authors on page proofs and other manuscript details, logging in manuscripts, and so on. Be Valued at the American Heart Association by following us on LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and at heart.jobs. **Responsibilities** + Manage project time-lines and deadline compliance, while effectively communicating project statuses and related information as required + Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers and volunteers, for example, responding to author queries + Collaborate effectively with other OSO departments and American Heart Association departments to meet departmental and organizational goals + Utilize vendor and/or American Heart Association systems (e.g. E1, COI, Seibel, etc.) efficiently and competently to complete duties/projects + Successfully complete multiple duties and projects while managing competing demands and priorities + Assist in all aspects of the publication process, including but not limited to responding to author queries, requesting and collecting author paperwork, following up on permissions and copyright transfer agreements, and so on **Want to help get your resume to the top? Take a look at the experience we require:** **Qualifications** + Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience + Three (3) years of meaningful work experience + Excellent written and oral communication skills + Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat + Project management knowledge + Ability to work independently managing multiple projects and deadlines + Attention to detail + Strong organizational skills **?** **Preferred Qualifications** + Publishing experience + Experience working in a nonprofit organization **Compensation & Benefits** Expected pay range will be $42,000 - $50,000. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply. The American Heart Association reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range.
