Position Summary: Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to work as an Education Coordinator. This position is responsible for developing and providing services related to the orientation, continuing education, and assessment of clinical staff. Predominately working Monday – Friday, 8-hour shifts. Essential functions for this role include:
- Collaborates with nurse managers and staff to assess the learning needs and competencies of staff.
- Designs, delivers, and assesses learning activities and curriculums related to clinical competencies, departmental/organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and the use of clinical information technologies.
- Serves as a consultant/mentor for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development.
- Participates in the development, coordination, and delivery of new staff orientation and education activities.
- Facilities the following training and competencies requirements for staff members both contracted and permanent:- Mandatory hospital trainings and certificates programs.- Annual skills fairs- Ongoing staff education for new equipment, policies, and procedures.- Performs annual education needs assessments and compiles results to formulate a plan with key stakeholders and appropriately executes.- Administer content for learning management system.- Administers and facilitates resident and intern programs.- Administers Lippincott data sources and modifications.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Associates degree in Nursing required, BSN preferred.
- Licensure: Current Nevada Registered Nurse License (or ability to obtain prior to hire) and American Heart Association BLS required on hire.
