Job Description/Summary
The Education Specialist assists consumers in choosing getting and keeping enrollment in post secondary academic settings. The role of the education specialist aims to provide educational and support services to individuals with psychiatric disabilities in post- secondary settings so that they can have access to and successfully utilize the educational environment while increasing career maturity and improving a consumer's quality of life and self-esteem.
Responsibilities
- Provides timely and effective advocacy, consultation, service coordination, evaluation, written reports, and phone contact to community resources and related professionals.
- Assists the consumer with academic skills, communication skills, interpersonal skills, and ethics.
- Effectively uses outreach to engage consumers enrollment into program.
- Provides on and off-site supports to consumers such as phone calls, meetings and other support that is needed.
- Ensures documentation of services provided is completed timely and in an evidence based manner.

- Demonstrates ability to independently engage consumers and provide appropriate program support

Qualifications
- Bachelor's level degree in Human Services field preferred; or AS with two years experience; or HS Diploma or equivalent with five years Human Services experience.
- Driver's License in good standing
