About the Job
The EEG Technician performs EEG, sleep EEG and other related procedures in the hospital. Attaches electrodes to body. Records impulse frequencies and differences in electrical potential between various areas of the brain to obtain data for use in diagnosis of brain disorders. This position performs electroneurodiagnostic procedures, including all aspects of EEG multiple modalities. He/She must respond to STAT calls via telephone within 15 minutes and be able to report to the hospital within one hour (60 min) of Call Duty.
The person in this position works under general supervision, is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.
Qualifications:- High School Diploma or General Education Degree required.
- One (1) year experience in patient care required
- BLS through American Heart Association
- Knowledge of Neuro anatomy
- Understand the disease process of the brain
- Knowledge of the international 10-20 system
- Be able to recognized abnormal EEG patterns
- Basic computer skills
