- The EH&S Manager leads and provides strategic direction to the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs for Client Diagnostics in Broken Bow. This role involves the strategic design, implementation, and management of all EHS policies, procedures, and activities to ensure regulatory compliance with local, state (NDEQ), federal (OSHA, EPA), and BDX requirements. The manager is accountable for achieving site and business metrics related to established EHS goals in conjunction with the site Leadership Team and associates.
- Lead the development and implementation of long-term strategic EHS systems and programs in support of behavior-based safety, risk assessment/hazard identification, environmental/sustainability, and associate health.
- Provide guidance to the site Leadership Team regarding EHS strategic objectives and regulatory compliance issues.
- Monitor performance/impact of the plant safety system and programs, recommending modifications for improvement.
- Serve as the catalyst leading the plant's overall safety performance.
- Compile and distribute safety and health-related information to reduce and/or eliminate workplace accidents.
- Work directly with facilitators/supervisors and the hourly workforce to identify hazards and eliminate unsafe conditions.
- Provide leadership, training, and strategic guidance for the Safety Core Team, plant business unit teams, facilitators/supervisors, and support areas, as well as EHS project teams. Oversee and mentor EHS activities across the site.
- Direct and coordinate the Job Safety Analysis, Hazard Assessment, Physical Capacity Profile, Hearing Conservation, Industrial Hygiene sampling, fire protection, LOTO, and environmental reporting programs for the site.
- Coordinate and/or perform safety validations of all new and/or modified equipment and/or processes.
- Identify and manage personal protective equipment needs for the site, as well as evaluate the effectiveness and functionality of required PPE.
- Complete site reporting consistent with EPA, OSHA, and Client corporate requirements.
- Establish, maintain, and communicate EHS metrics to evaluate current programs and analyze opportunities for improvement.
- Serve as the plant liaison to the corporate EHS office for all environmental, health, and safety issues.
- Lead the Performance Verification Process (PVP) through corporate EHS.
- Manage the resolution of identified EHS audit findings.
- EHS Leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- 4 years of management experience (preferred)
- BA required, master's preferred
