EHS ENGINEER
Environmental Remediation, Asbestos Abatement, Demolition & Site Clearing
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide environmental consulting services ranging from site investigations to remediation projects
- Perform field work including subcontractor management, field testing for remediation projects, monitoring remediation systems, performing operation & maintenance functions on remediation equipment, and collecting soil, groundwater, surface water, and sediment samples, as well as documenting field activities
- Set up field projects, including permitting; hiring subcontractors; coordinating with staff, laboratories, and subcontractors; and obtaining necessary equipment
- Participating in engineering design for remediation systems, water treatment and wastewater treatment
- Ensure projects are performed safely
- Perform data review and management
- Draft reports documenting field and other efforts
- Assist the Project Manager and team in ensuring effective client and regulatory agency communication and relations
- Follow company safety standards, site safety standards and provides all required permitting
- Willingness to travel to project sites throughout the Wesern US
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Science in technical EHS area, such as: Environmental Engineering/Science, Occupational Safety, or Industrial Hygiene; Engineering (Chemical, Systems, Industrial), Chemistry, Biology, Physics considered with direct EHS experience.
- A minimum of five years environmental, health, and safety experience in remediation, asbestos abatement, air quality.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with the ability/desire to lead tasks
- Completion of annual or bi-annual employment physical, as required
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: not mandatory but highly desirable
- ASP/CSP, IHIT/CIH, RS, RM, CHMM, FE/ElT, PE.
- Relevant OSHA Certification: e.g., OSHA 30-hr, Certified Forklift Trainer, Arc-Flash NFPA 70e, 40-hr HAZWOPER
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work performed in a standard office environment as well as field, may be exposed to noise, smells, hazardous substances, etc.
- Field activities may require working in unfavorable weather conditions
