About this Opportunity:
This role involves Managing and Advising on safety and environmental health standards at the plant by conducting audits and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
Responsibilities:
Provide advice on safety and protection, ensuring compliance with organizational and government standards on environmental health and safety.
Identify hazardous workplace conditions and promote a culture of safety and awareness.
Ensure compliance with federal and state health and safety regulations, maintaining necessary records.
Participate in OSHA inspections, providing documents and identifying safety measures.
Foster a culture of safety and environmental excellence.
Develop and implement health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
Conduct inspections and audits to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Deliver training programs on safety procedures, emergency response, and environmental practices.
Monitor and evaluate safety programs, making necessary improvements.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, implementing preventive measures.
Maintain and update safety data sheets (SDS) and ensure hazard communication compliance.
Collaborate with teams to implement ergonomic solutions and wellness initiatives.
Stay updated on health, safety, and environmental regulations, communicating changes.
Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies during inspections and audits.
Develop and maintain emergency response plans and coordinate drills.
Engage employees at all levels to drive safe behavior and improve safety performance.
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
5-8 years of EHS experience in environmental health and safety management, preferably in manufacturing or industrial settings.
Bachelors in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred. in-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations.
Experience in safety training program development and safety committee management.
Strong understanding of risk management and incident investigation.
Familiarity with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 standards is a plus.
