EHS Specialist/Engineer - Koch Fertilizer

Koch Fertilizer Fort Dodge, LLC is now hiring an EHS Specialist/Engineer to join our team in Fort Dodge, Iowa. This individual will provide quality service to facility customers and ensure that all facility environmental health and safety activities, systems, and plans effectively drive performance to meet or exceed business and company objectives and requirements.

This role works a flexible day schedule and is eligible for relocation and sign on incentives.

What You Will Do

• Connects, learns, and build EHS capability in all roles of the organization
• Preparation of environmental reports for regulatory agencies
• Builds and maintains positive relationships with regulatory agencies and the community
• Partner with leadership to develop short and long-term EHS objectives
• Foster an EHS environment of collaboration and active participation with all employees
• Support operating the site by understanding and maintaining compliance with Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and other regulations relevant to Koch companies
• Provides environmental risk management and compliance strategies for facility changes, projects, and maintenance outages
• Supports emergency response compliance
• Manages the EHS aspects of incident reporting and compliance tracking systems
• Builds systems to analyze facility EHS trends and checks and adjusts methods, systems, and strategies accordingly
• Monitors compliance to environmental standards and best practices. Supports audit and self-assessment processes
• Work at heights up to 50 feet, climb stairs/ladders and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas
• Have on-call availability

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Environmental compliance or engineering experience

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience in the chemical or oil & gas industry
• Working knowledge of Iowa Department Natural Resources/EPA regulations
• Experience with air quality
• Experience in laboratory testing, health and safety and process engineering capability.
