About the Job
The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist (EHS) is responsible for various duties and responsibilities, including:
- Acting as a subject matter expert in environmental, health, and safety, and effectively communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Developing hazardous and chemical waste programs in compliance with relevant regulations.
- Conducting investigations into incidents, addressing inquiries or complaints, and implementing corrective and preventive measures.
- Performing risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.
- Conducting audits and evaluations to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Delivering effective training on safety and related topics.
- Implementing industry best practices and ensuring compliance with data integrity and cGMP standards.
Education and experience requirements include relevant work experience in a cGMP manufacturing setting, a bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety or related field with seven years of experience, or a master's degree with five years of experience. Additionally, excellent organization, communication, and presentation skills are essential.
Working conditions involve a laboratory or manufacturing environment requiring personal protective equipment, exposure to various materials, and physical exertion. Flexibility to work extended hours and weekends based on business needs may be necessary.
Salary range: $70.000 - 90.000 per year
