NATUREOF WORK: The position is responsible for maintaining the Elders Programfacilities and for transporting clients and families to Elders activities and functions. The incumbent drives andmaintains organization vehicles to assist clients/staff with meeting transportationneeds and performs custodial and minor maintenance duties inand around theprogram facility providing a clean, orderly andsafe environmentfor Employees, client,families andvisitors.
DUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide safe, dependable,andflexible driving transportationservices forclients and families to and from program activities and functions.
- Assist clients andfamilies in/out ofbuses, vans andother vehicles inacareful, respectful and polite fashion.
- Assistimplementtransportationservicesforclientvolunteersandparentsasneeded.
- Keep vehicles cleanandcomplete regular operator maintenance,schedules regular and special vehicle maintenance and repair.
- Set up,modifies, redistributes andtransports officefurniture, training props (screens, blackboard, etc) andsupplies to support classes, events and meetings.
- Remove trash(inside andout), vacuum andcleans carpeting andfurniture, mops floors and washes windows in accordance with established procedures and time schedule.
- Cleans anddisinfects restrooms, lobby, offices, conference rooms, break rooms, kitchen, entry ways and other common areas.
- Stocksfacilitywithpaper,cleaningmaterials,andothersupplies.
- Performspreventivemaintenanceinandaroundfacilities;inspectsandcertifiesfire
- extinguishersmonthlyandschedulestheirperiodicrechargingasneeded.
- Mow andwaterlawnandpruneandmaintainplantsandotherlandscaping.
- Cleans, maintains andrepairs equipment andsupplies usedfor community dinners; assists in packing, loading, unloading andunpacking equipment, supplies andfood.
- Establishes andconducts, asdirected andauthorized, recreational andleisure activities, functions andfield trips for youth andfamilies. Keeps accurate participation records and produces written or oral reports as needed or requested.
- Establishes andmaintains professional quality communicationswith staff andout-side agencies,businesses, and individuals as needed.
- Otherdutiesas assigned.
KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS,ANDABILITIES:
- Knowledgeofrelatedlaws,regulations,andpolicies.
- Abilitytouserequiredequipmentandtools.
- Abilitytoliftupto50pounds.
- Abilitytooperatelawn mowersanda varietyofothergroundskeepingequipmentand hand and power tools.
- Abilitytoexercisenecessaryprecautionwhenusingcleanersandsolvents;follow directions for use as specified by manufacturer.
- Work independently in the absence of supervision.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work indoors and outdoors in varied weather conditions.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instruction.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Six months maintenance related work experience or completion of maintenance training program.
- Six months experience working in a social service, education, or Elders program.
- Must have a valid Washington State driver's license and be insurable under the Tribe's insurance policy.
- Most be able to successfully pass a criminal History Background investigation
