Elections Support Specialist - Voting Equipment Technician (VET) - Tryfacta, Inc

START ASAP- Election Support Staff - Voting Equipment Technician (VET) roles in Miami-Dade County; this is a unique opportunity to engage in the democratic processes for the County!.

We are looking for Staff Members who come in for In-Person interview and the date will be confirmed upon your confirmation.

In this role you will be in support roles for upcoming election in Miami Dade County.

Schedule: 40 hours a week, Overtime as needed.
Pay Rate: $20.34/hour
Duration: Sep/Oct for 2 weeks to 2 months, extended shift/overtime as needed

Scheduling Commitment:

• VET classroom training, Mock Training, and Early Voting Site builds are mandatory.
• Must be available to work 10+ hrs. shift during Early Voting of 14 days (this includes weekends)

Documents required during the interview :

• Must bring a copy of Resume
• Must bring FL Driver's license and clean Driving record
• Must bring Active VALID ID proof (not expiry)
• Social Security Card
• Employment Authorization Card Copy (if not citizen)
• Bank Account Information, Routing number and Account number

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be High school diploma or GED.
• Registered voter in Miami Dade County
• Ability to pass background screening
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Basic computer skills needed to perform Quality Assurance
• Must have a valid FL driver's license.
• Be able to pass background screening and Drug Test (mandatory).

Nature of Work :

This position will be responsible for technical support during Early Voting and Election Day. This position is responsible for performing a variety of technical troubleshooting for EViDs, Ballot-on-Demand (BOD) Printers, DS200, Expressvote, and MiFi's. This position is also responsible for troubleshooting network problems, diagnosing and resolving hardware or software issues.

Illustrative Tasks:

• Participation and assistance with mock training.
• Prepares VET equipment and supplies for distribution.
• Early Voting site setup.
• Maintaining functional voting equipment and systems ( EViD, DS200, ExpressVote, Ballot printers, and smartphone).
• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues.
• Compiling data on election equipment (i.e serial numbers) per assigned Early Voting site.
• Answer support on mobile phone.
• Resolve support tickets on mobile chats (via Teams).
• Election Day EViD support (troubleshoot any EViD issues)
• Diagnose, resolve, and document hardware and software issues.
• Provide support as required until task completion.
• Ensure consumables are maintained (Ballot paper, toner, and drums).
• Prepares reports such as inventory updates and job status reports, as required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities :

• Registered voter (preferred)
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
• Ability to deal with the public in a tactful and courteous manner.
• Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
• Ability to perform data entry upon request.
• Ability to problem solve.
• Basic knowledge in electrical setup and battery backups for computer equipment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, MS Teams)
• Proficiency smartphone/tablet
• Technical savvy (preferred)
