About the Job
Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Process Control Engineer for our plywood mill in Madison, GA. The Process Control Engineer will be the specialist for all aspects of automation in the plywood operation. This position will also provide advanced engineering expertise to solve problems and implement changes using process control technologies. This includes developing scope, estimating costs and designing projects to install equipment and systems that support the improvement operation.

What You Will Do
- Advanced PLC programming skills (Allen-Bradley Contrologix experience required)
- Ability to troubleshoot and maintain plant network systems
- Ability to troubleshoot and configure industrial HMIs
- Ability to troubleshoot, configure and install AC and DC drives
- Able to create drawings and schematics for electrical installations
- Shares knowledge, coordinates, and communicates effectively to all levels
- Works independently or as a team with maintenance technicians and management
- Demonstrates effective and logical troubleshooting skills
- Understands and uses data to improve productivity
- Self-motivated, reliable, positive attitude, strong work ethic, and respect for others
- Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures
- Operate within a manufacturing plant environment, which may involve prolonged exposure to high noise levels, dust, and areas that are not climate controlled.
- Exhibit a proactive attitude towards process improvement regardless of the type of work required, whether it be operational, mechanical, or electrical.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree or 2-year degree in a technical related field (preferred)
- At least three (3) years of demonstrated electrical, process controls, and project experience including scope and estimate development, cost control, and schedule adherence
- Extensive PLC controls programming background to include networked PLCs, and analog control
- Extensive HMI programming background to build new or modify existing HMIs on a variety of platforms
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electronic circuits
- Read and interpret electrical schematics
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills, along with proficiency in standard Microsoft Office Suite .
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience working in the lumber or plywood industries
- One (1) year of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
