About the Role:
In the Electrical Controls Engineer position, you will be responsible for implementing the electrical design concepts for, electronic equipment for use in vacuum equipment. This will require the use of computer-assisted engineering, design software, and equipment to perform assignments. Apply principles and techniques of electrical engineering to accomplish goals.
What you will do:
- Create detailed drawings for electrical components and systems to provide useful and safe equipment
- Design power distribution systems and equipment control systems
- Design network communications for the equipment
- Incorporate RF power supplies into the design
- Create Bills of Material in our corporate ERP system
- Perform prototype assembly and testing of components and sub-modules
- Troubleshoot equipment during building phase
- Inspect incoming products from new vendors
- Ability to use company software packages including basic project management tools.
- Help with estimating and proposal work
- Assist Assembly, Test, Purchasing and Quality Assurance with any production problems.
- Perform quality checks on electrical assembly personnel’s work.
- Ability to organize required work to complete a project and direct designers in this process.
- Knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electric Code) and familiarity with international standards (IEC).
- Knowledge of industrial controls networks (i.e. Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, etc.) is a plus
Qualifications:
Required
- 2 or more years of industry experience
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited ABET program
- Familiarity in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
- Strong CAD experience with Solid Edge or comparable 3D system
- Exposure to agency compliance codes such as NEC, NFPA, UL, CE
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- 4 or more years of industry experience
- Experience with AutoCAD or other 2D drafting package
