About the Job
General Responsibilities
Prior experience working on Healthcare/Hospitals building Duties:
Pre-Design Engineering
- Review existing as-built drawings.
- Perform field investigations.
- Set up drawings and models for multiple disciplines.
- Collaborate with team members regarding design coordination, schedules, and deliverables.
- Perform feasibility studies.
- Prepare schematic designs.
Design Engineering
- Perform energy calculations using EnergyPro or IES VE.
- Develop single-line diagrams and load schedules.
- Design lighting selection and controls.
- Design normal, emergency, and renewable power systems.
- Perform Arc Flash, Short Circuit, and Coordination Power System Studies.
- Experience with low voltage building systems (Fire Alarm, Security, Voice/Data, Nurse Call) systems a plus
Design Complexity
- Performs routine engineering work applying standard techniques. Performs basic engineering calculations.
- Prepares construction estimates and specifications for small size projects.
- Can independently create small reports.
Construction Administration
Review submittals
Position Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering Field
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certification is a plus
- LEED Accreditation a plus
Working Knowledge
- Microsoft Office Suite
- AutoCAD
- Revit
- California Building Code
- National Electrical Code
- OSHPD/HCAI experience is a plus
- Net Zero Energy/Carbon experience a plus
