What you'll do:
- Craft one-line diagrams with minimal engineer oversight.
- Respond to project RFIs and meticulously review submittals.
- Troubleshoot electrical system installation problems, including occasional on-site visits.
- Develop floor plans detailing electrical layouts, fixtures, and equipment.
- Calculate electrical loads, create panel schedules, and craft equipment and material specifications.
- Integrate fire alarm systems into floor plans.
- Select and schedule equipment with senior staff guidance.
- Implement risk management practices to minimize project issues.
- Manage your design process within project timelines.
- Collaborate with contractors throughout the design phases.
- Oversee client deliverables and foster cross-disciplinary coordination.
- Communicate effectively with operations, owners, and subcontractors.
To be a great fit, you'll have:
- A Bachelor of Electrical Engineering.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience designing electrical systems for residential and multi-family buildings
- Proficiency in AutoCAD MEP and Revit
- In-depth understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant codes.
- A solid grasp of electrical concepts like voltage drops, conductor sizing, and harmonics.
- The ability to collaborate effectively with other engineering disciplines.
- The ability to thrive in both independent and collaborative work environments.
Bonus points if you have:
- COMCheck experience
- E.I.T. Certification
- P.E. License
- experience with light commercial projects.
