Shift: 3rd 10pm-6am

Summary
The Electrical Diagnostic Specialist is a key player in ensuring the electrical first-time quality (EFTC) during vehicle program launches. This full-time, onsite role requires the Specialist to become an expert in diagnosing electrical failures in vehicles, using a logical process and leveraging various diagnostic tools and systems. The Specialist will assist Plant Repair Technicians (Techs) in identifying root causes, guiding them through the repair process, and ensuring the proper use of the Tracer Electrical Guided Diagnostics System. The Specialist will work closely with both salaried and hourly personnel, supporting the plant in meeting production goals and improving EFTC by rapidly diagnosing vehicle issues and expediting repairs.
Responsibilities
- Vehicle Diagnosis: Perform rapid diagnosis of electrical issues in vehicles, utilizing the Tracer system and other diagnostic tools to identify defects, root causes, and necessary repairs.
- Technical Support: Assist Plant Repair Techs in the repair process, ensuring the use of Tracer to document defects and repair notes, and providing guidance on troubleshooting and diagnostics.
- Process Integration: Integrate with the plant team, working closely with both salaried and hourly personnel to ensure Tweddle's Diagnostic Services and the Tracer System are effectively utilized.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with the plant's cross-functional team, including Quality Engineers, SQD, and manufacturing teams, to support corrective actions and reduce issues impacting EFTC.
- Communication: Promptly communicate technical issues to appropriate parties and follow up with responsible teams (e.g., VSE, PD, MQ, VPE, ICT, Dynetics) to ensure issues are resolved.
- Training and Coaching: Provide coaching and training to Techs on using Tracer and other diagnostic tools, ensuring they are equipped to handle electrical diagnostics and repairs.
- Goal Alignment: Align with the plant's goals for driving improvements in Electrical FTC/STC on a weekly/monthly basis and support the plant in meeting its production targets.
Job Requirements
- Experience:
- 5+ years of experience with automotive electrical sub-systems.
- Previous experience as a mechanic or electrical diagnostic technician.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in diagnostics, including systems, tools, and equipment.
- Strong computer skills, including familiarity with diagnostic software and tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Stellantis Electrical Architecture, particularly with the 2025 Ram 1500 or similar vehicles.
- ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Previous experience working in an assembly plant environment, comfortable with its fast-paced and demanding culture.
- Proficiency in office computer systems and applications (e.g., Microsoft 365).
